Permission to Work Independently

To work independently as a dentist in Denmark, you can apply for Danish authorization and permission. This application can be submitted at least 14 days before completing your employment for adaptation and training purposes (evalueringsansættelse). The fee for obtaining permission to work independently as a dentist is DKK 1,206.

Once you have received the authorization and permission to work independently as a dentist, you will be eligible to open your own clinic.

Specialist Training and Registration

After obtaining Danish authorization and permission to work independently as a dentist, you can apply for specialist training in two specialties: Oral Surgery and Orthodontics.

If you have completed specialist training outside Denmark, you can apply to the Danish Patient Safety Authority for an assessment of your training.

All the information necessary for evaluating your application for permission to work independently will be processed electronically by the Danish Patient Safety Authority and, if necessary, by professional advisors. Your name, address, civil registration number, nationality, case number, country of training, educational institution, examination dates, and registration dates will be recorded in the online register of the Danish Patient Safety Authority. This information will be used for case identification, assessment, and statistical purposes.
