On 24 January 2024, a political agreement was reached on how the opportunities for recruitment of foreign health professionals from third countries could be improved.
Read the agreement (in danish)
The agreement includes a number of initiatives which are carried out by, among other things, by amending the Authorisation Act and decrees on the authorisation of healthcare professionals who are nationals of and/or trained in countries outside the EU/EEA.
What does it mean to you?
When the agreement enters into force, it may have an impact on the authorisation process for you, who are healthcare professionals outside the EU/EEA.
It is also expected that the current authorisation fee will be changed from an issuance fee to an application fee. This means that the fee will have to be paid for processing an application, and not for getting an authorisation issued.
The rules have not yet changed. This means that the current rules still apply. It is the current rules that appear on our website.
When will the change take effect?
We expect that the changes to the authorisation process will come into force on 1 July 2024. When the rules have been changed, this will be shown on our website, and we will continuously provide information of importance to current and future applicants for Danish authorisation.
