Employment for Adaptation and Training Purposes

Once you have successfully passed the language test, you can pursue employment for adaptation and training purposes (evalueringsansættelse).

Once you have successfully passed the language test, you can pursue employment for adaptation and training purposes, known as "evalueringsansættelse" in Danish.

The employment for adaptation and training purposes is a minimum 6-month period during which your clinical skills and communication abilities will be evaluated. It is your responsibility to search for and apply to any available positions. Keep in mind that the employment must be full-time.

Temporary Authorisation (evalueringsautorisation)

Before starting your employment, you must obtain a temporary authorization, referred to as "evalueringsautorisation." Once you have been offered a position, fill out the "Ansøgning om evalueringsautorisation" form and apply for a temporary authorization at the Danish Patient Safety Authority.

When applying for a temporary authorization, ensure that you include an updated CV and arrange for the health authorities in the country where you last worked as a registered chiropractor to either send a new "good standing" statement or directly complete the required form and forward it to the Danish Patient Safety Authority. If chiropractic is an unregulated profession in your country, you must obtain and send a criminal record directly to the Danish Patient Safety Authority from the issuing authority.

The completed form, duly stamped by the recruiting department/clinic, should be mailed to the Danish Patient Safety Authority to request the evaluation authorization.

Positive Assessments

Upon successful completion of the employment for adaptation and training purposes, along with positive assessments (evalueringsskemaer) from the department, you will be granted Danish authorization to practice as an independent chiropractor.

Negative Assessments

In the event that your employer provides negative assessments during the employment period, expressing doubts about your ability to improve your clinical and/or communication skills, the Danish Patient Safety Authority will make a decision regarding the next steps to be taken.
