New Study Guideline
1 January 2018. Your registration to the oral exam will be canceled if you do not pass the written exam, as this exam must be passed first.

Primary-source Verification
15 November 2015. From 1 January 2016 the Danish Patient Safety Authority will require primary-source verification of three core credentials that doctors who are citizens in and/or educated outside the European Economic Community (EEC) must send to the Danish Patient Safety Authority when applying for registration in Denmark. The credentials that will require primary-source verification are the Final Medical Diploma, Final Medical School Transcript, and latest License to Practice Medicine.
The Danish Patient Safety Authority is introducing primary-source verification to obtain greater certainty that the received documentation is authentic and thereby ensure that the Danish Patient Safety Authority does not register persons who have not completed an education as doctor.
To incorporate primary-source verification into its process, The Danish Patient Safety Authority is collaborating with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®), an American company with a long history of primary-source verifying physician credentials. Doctors who are citizens in and/or educated outside the European Economic Community (EEC) will be required to have their credentials primary-source verified through ECFMG’s Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (EPICSM). Through EPIC, physicians upload credentials related to their medical education, training, and registration/licensure to ECFMG for primary-source verification, creating a digital portfolio of their verified credentials. They can then send reports demonstrating the authenticity of those credentials to organizations worldwide, including the Danish Patient Safety Authority.

Application and Approval of Qualifications
Deadlines
Employment for Adaptation and Training Purposes
When you have passed the medical tests and completed the course in Danish legislation, you have 12 months to find and take up employment for adaptation and training purposes. If you have not succeed in finding employment for adaptation and training purposes within 12 months, you have to apply again to obtain an assessment of whether your medical qualifications are eligible for testing.
Please not that in connection with your application you have to submit documentation as evidence of 12 months employments as a medical doctor, if your medical training is more than 6 years old when you apply again (6-year-rule).
The 6-year-rule means that your primary medical qualification will be considered obsolete, unless you can document that you have worked as a medical doctor for at least 12 months during the past 6 years preceding the new application date. It is a condition that you were registered/authorised as a medical doctor by the competent health authority in this period.
