Employment for adaptation and training purposes
When you have passed the language test, you can take up employment for adaptation and training purposes (evalueringsansættelse).
The employment for adaption and training purposes is an employment of minimum 6 months with the purpose of assessing your clinical skills and your communication skills. You have to find and apply for any vacant positions yourself. The employment must be full time.
You must ensure that the position you are applying for is or can be approved for employment for adaption and training purposes. The Danish Patient Safety Authority will approve the position and issue an authorisation limited to your employment.
Temporary authorisation (evalueringsautorisation)
Before you start your employment, you need an “evalueringsautorisation” (temporary authorisation). When you have been offered a position, you must apply for an "evalueringsautorisation" at the Danish Patient Safety Authority by filling in the form "Ansøgning om evalueringsautorisation".
While applying for a temporary authorisation, you must send an updated CV and make sure that the health authorities in the country where you last worked as a registered occupational therapist send a new statement on "good standing" or completed the form directly to the Danish Patient Safety Authority. If the profession is not regulated in your country, a criminal record must be sent directly to the Danish Patient Safety Authority from the authority that issued the document.
The evaluation authorisation can be requested on the form, which must be completed and stamped by the recruiting department/clinic and sent to the Danish Patient Safety Authority by mail.
The assessment time for issuing a temporary authorisation is at least 14 days from when the Danish Patient Safety Authority has received the required documentation.
When you have completed the employment for adaptation and training purposes and we have received positive assessments (evalueringsskemaer) from the department, you will be awarded Danish authorisation as a physiotherapist.
If, during the employment period, we receive negative assessments from your employer and it is noted that it is unlikely you can improve your clinical and/or communication skills, the Danish Patient Safety Authority will decide on the next steps.
