Chiropractor: application for registration
Authorisation process
The authorisation process and the required documentation depend on the country in which you are a national and the country in which you qualified as a chiropractor:
Keep updated
Until you have been granted Danish authorisation, you are obliged to keep updated about any changes to the authorisation procedure and the deadlines you have to meet.
Sound communication
According to the Danish Authorisation Act, chiropractors are required to practice their profession with due care and conscientiousness. This provision also implies sound communication with patients, relatives, other healthcare professionals etc. The appointing authority assesses whether the chiropractors meets the requirements laid down in the Danish Authorisation Act.
75 years rule
The entitlement to practice as a chiropractor expires at the age of 75. Read more about the 75 years rule.
Authorisation
Chiropractors with an education that, according to the Danish Patient Safety Authority, can be equated with the danish education for chiropractor (cand.manu.) may be authorised to work as a chiropractor in a subordinate position, under a chiropractor with permission to work independently. There is no charge for authorisation.
Permission to work independently
To obtain permission to work independently, chiropractors must complete an internship of 12 months. The position for adaptation and training purposes may form part of the internship if the position is completed at an approved tutor.
