Inquests

An inquest is performed by a doctor who establishes whether death has occurred. The death certificate, page 1, is used by the funeral authorities, and the information on the death certificate, page 2, about the cause and manner of death is registered with the Danish Health Authority.

In some circumstances, the doctor, who establishes that death has occurred, must contact the police.
